The One Where Elise Got Baptized!!

Hey yall! Another week! It was a great week. I don't remember much of it, but I do remember that it was great. Let's get into it......

Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• Our friend Elise got baptized! It was such a precious baptism! It was actually the best because she just had it with another kid in our ward and it was so perfect, because we didnt have to do anything for it. Just teach her! It was awesome! She was so happy to be baptized!
• After the baptism, our ward missionary visited their family and he called us after to tell us that Elise's dad's fiance, who wasnt interested when we we were teaching Elise, is interested in taking the missionary lessons now!! Such a miracle!!
• Our friend Alejandra is so ready for baptism! She actually asked if we could move it up!! Yay! She has her interview this week.
• We had a guy call our stake communications lady and ask to attend a church service. We called him for her and he said that he has pondered and studied our church a lot and he said "I am 93% ready to sign the contract" loll. Not how that one works, but ok hahaha.
• This lady we were teaching stops me dead in the middle of my sentence while I was teaching about prophets and goes "why did you decide to come on a mission?" I bore my testimony about why I am here and my eyes got a little watery. I am so grateful that I decided to serve a mission. It has changed me. I am so grateful for this time I have set apart to serve the Lord with everything I have.

Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• We didn't find a lot of people to teach this week, but that's ok. We counseled about some things that we could change and prayed about it. We feel like we have a good plan. So check back next week!

Some funny things that made me laugh:
• I went to a member dinner on exchanges and we go to leave and she goes, "ok lets pray" and she summons us to stand up. I was like uhhh ok. We get up and she puts all of our forheads together and we all hug and she proceeds to say a very sweet prayer. But Sister Palmer and I were literally losing it internally. But we did not make a peep, thank goodness. Pretty memorable.
• We were on the phone with a guy that was literally yappin and all of the sudden I see a SKUNK climb out of a broken down car ahhhh. It was terrfiying and I tried to tell Sister Brady, but I forgot that the mute button was a thing and I just pointed and ran in terror lolll. After the phone call I told her what happened and she just laughed because she was literally terrified. For good reason lol.
• We taught about tithing to Elise and her family with skittles and at the end the kids tried to eat it, but those skittles have been in our car for centuries loll. It was so hard and they had to spit them out bahahah oops.
• Poor Sister Morris on exchanges was so so sick! But she was such a trooper and just kept going even when she was just so exhausted and about to throw up. I kept asking her if she was ok and she kept just holding a thumbs up with a very not good face lolll. She is power!

Drum roll please ...Sister Rose time!!
I love this verse and I have been thinking about it a lot recently. Mosiah 5:2
"And they all cried with one voice, saying: Yea, we believe all the words which thou hast spoken unto us; and also, we know of their surety and truth, because of the Spirit of the Lord Omnipotent, which has wrought a mighty change in us, or in our hearts, that we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually."

As they learned about Jesus Christ, when they really understood who He was and what He did for them, these people had no more desire to do evil. When we truly understand who our Savior is and what He has asked us, we change. Pretty cool. Doctrine understood changes behavior.

I love yall!
Sister Rose
