The One Where it Was the First Week of In Person MTC
As you can tell from the title. I just finished my first week of MTC in Provo, so I have about 10 more days left of MTC!! So crazy. This week was really good, but also really hard. Here's some highlights!
Happy things and what I learned from them:
- I LOVE the Elders and Sisters in my district and I LOVE my companion: God puts us with people and in places where we can learn and grow.
- I have LOVED personal study this week: I will share a little of what I learned later on in the email, but the Book of Mormon is so true. Something that gives me so much comfort, teaches me how to be a better person, and teaches me more about my Savior can't not be true.
- We played sand volleyball today!!: I learned that I am a person that needs to have fun in some way every day. This week I am going to work on doing something fun every day this week, even if it's just doing one little dance move. LOL
Some hard things and what I learned from them:
- My district has really struggled with all the rules this week and being happy, I was struggling too, but then I decided that I needed to heed my teachers and follow all of the rules. Every. single. one. So I did. And wow, it all changed. I'm chillin now, I am happy, and I don't feel any guilt which is really nice. I have also been able to teach better and feel the spirit more. I love it. Liking the rules is not something I thought that I would feel, but honestly I love the rules. Every rule helps me to show my devotion to Christ, my Heavenly Father, and the gospel more. Don't get me wrong, missions are hard, but it's bearable because Christ beared it for me.
- The food here is a hit or an absolute miss. More like a mid meal or an absolute trashy meal. But I learned that if you fill up on fruit, you are chillin all day. They are really bad at giving us protein options sometimes lol. It's ok though, we chillin. I keep using chillin, idk why
Some things that made me laugh this week:
- One of the Elders farted right on one of the Sisters in my district during a devotional. Like lifted a leg and did it. I could not hold in the laughter. Sorry mom for including this, but it actually made my whole week soooo
- I have been playing the song "If You Believe" from one of the youth albums every morning and it has just hyped me up. It's kinda an annoying song, but it gets me excited for the day. My comp makes fun of me for it lol. I don't care.
- Elder Chen is the best. He is an Elder in my district that has the exact same humor as me and I love it. We just constantly are laughing.
- The Elder trio in my district is just so iconic. One elder is the dad of the three, the other is just in his own world all the time, and the last one is so serious, but just chillin, no emotions it seems, at all times. It's fun to watch their interactions with each other
Drum roll pleaseeee........ Sister Rose time!!!!:
I absolutely love Alma 7. But especially verse 12. It says:
"12 And he will take upon him adeath, that he may bloose the bands of death which bind his people; and he will take upon him their infirmities, that his bowels may be filled with mercy, according to the flesh, that he may know according to the flesh how to csuccor his people according to their infirmities."
I love knowing that my Savior knows exactly how I am feeling, so that He can perfectly comfort me. It's just amazing. Because honestly I don't know how to comfort myself sometimes.
Love y'all,
Sister Rose
