The One Where Miracles Happened in Vegas

Hey yall! Another week in Vegas and it was so good! Lovin life here in sin city and spreadin the good word of the gospel. Let's get into it...

Some happy things/miracles and what I learned from them:
• we were in a member meal and it started going over time and both me and Sister Seibold started to get super anxious to leave. We didn't know why. We wrapped up the member meal and lesson and rushed out to our bikes to go finding people. We rode past these girls sitting and waiting for the bus as we came out of the neighborhood. We didn't stop for some reason, then... I hear one of the girls go " I think those are the missionaries I was talking about" I stop so so fast and yell " yes! We are the missionaries, do you want to hear a message about Jesus Christ!" They were so excited. We had spirit led knocked their door and left a note and they wanted to learn more about Jesus Christ and the Book of Mormon!! WOAH! Literal miracle, that is why we felt so anxious to leave the member meal. They said they had missed 2 busses, they were kept there waiting just for us!!! The spirit can speak to us so much! Just listen to the smallest prompting that you get. So crazy!
• one of the people we were teaching ghosted us for like a week. Then we started praying so hard to see if we should stop teaching him. We got the prompting to send him another text to see if he will answer. We prayed so hard that he would answer. Guess what??! He answered. And wanted another lesson. We had the lesson. He has been going through a lot of really hard stuff lately and didn't want to be told that everything was gonna be OK. Which I get. He just seemed a little hard hearted at the first part of the lesson. But as soon as we opened up the scriptures and read in Alma 32 you could feel the spirit there. Words that he needed just spilled out of our mouths through the spirit. I actually don't even know what I said. We asked Jim if he wanted a Priesthood blessing and he said yes. After the blessing he said he felt the spirit and said that he needed to come to church. Yes! Miracle!!
• We had 5 friends at church on Sunday! That was a miracle in and of itself. It is so hard to get people you are teaching to church. It's like pulling teeth lol. It is so hard for people to keep that commitment, because Satan just knows the feelings they will get there and that they will want more, so he pushes so hard to make them not come. BUT our friends resisted the adversary this week! We got a family of 6 there, and 3 other people we are teaching for their first sacrament meeting. So good! Our ward was so happy and surprised. We literally doubled the sacrament meeting this week because really there are only 30 active members in our ward that we serve in right now lol. So good! Now the ward is excited for missionary work and wanna come out with us more!!

Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• Sometimes walking around and trying to find people is so draining, especially when no one wants to listen to you and you get rejected left and right. But I always have to keep in mind that this is the Lord's work, not mine, and the Lord's work is perfect. And people have agency. I don't have to stress that stuff. All i have to do is give people the opportunity and if they don't accept, my part is done and it's not on me. As long as i talk to every person i see and give them the opportunity to accept the gospel, then i have done my part.
• Teaching is very hard. Sometimes i have no idea what to say. BUT so many times, Sister Seibold will look at me, telling me its my turn to talk now, and I will just open my mouth and words just fall out. And you know what, sometimes it actually makes sense hahaha. The spirit is awesome man.

Some things that made me laugh:
• At church, we had our family of 6 that we are teaching come to church! They have kids that are 5,4,3,and 1. The little kids wanted to sit next to Sister Seibold and I. It was so funny. They were WILD. They were climbing all over us, coloring in our gospel art coloring book app, asking us to read the hymns to them, just WILD. It was so fun. The parents were just sleeping on the bench behind us pretty much, because we were taking care of their kids lol.
• A family that we were having a member meal with got in a full on argument at the table while we were there. Awkward. But it was kinda funny. We did that thing where you act like you're not paying attention and can't hear them, but really you're sitting right next to them, so of course you can hear them unless you are literally deaf.
• Sister Seibold was gonna street contact someone, it was pretty dark outside. She said "hi sir!" And the guy was putting something in a bush. He turned around and literally looked like he saw a ghost. He skurted out of there as fast as he could lol. Pretty sure we just witnessed a drug dealer hiding his goodies lol.
• We kinda live in the ghetto, so there are drug deals and some gun shots around us quite a bit, but we good. We got the spirit and the Lord on our side. Don't worry about us.

Drum roll please........ Sister Rose time!!
Go read Alma 32 in the Book of Mormon!! Faith doesn't come with the snap of a finger. You need to plant a seed of faith and nourish it through daily scripture study, prayer, and relying on the Lord. Nothing is gonna happen if you just sit there like a bump on a log. We have to continually nourish our seed of faith. Never be satisfied with your faith plant!

Sorry this was long lol!

Love y'all,
Sister Rose
