The One Where I Am Part of a Bike Gang Now

Hey yall!! Another week in sin city!! North Las Vegas is a wild place to be, but I am loving it!! Let's get into it....

Some happy things and what i learned from them:

• The Miracle of Elyte: The other day we were knocking doors in an apartment building and i went into a building that I knew the person we were looking for didn't live. But i went into it anyway. Put walks this older lady and I ask her if she wants a Christmas message. She says not right now, but that we can come by tomorrow. So we come back the next day and a young girl opens the door. We tell her we are there for her grandma and she tells us that her grandma wasn't there today. And then she pauses and says " wait i have a lot of questions though. I was just baptized and i don't know anything about God or Jesus Christ. I literally know nothing. Can you teach me?" To that i said honey, that's my job. Just kidding i didn't say that, but that would have been funny. We tell her a little about Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father and she asks us to come back again!! Yay yay Miracle!! Nothing is a coincidence. Notice the miracles in your life, because sometimes they are right there in front of our lil noggins!
• So it was my bday on Monday and our cute cute recent convert gave me the cutest card ever. He is the sweetest most innocent guy you will ever meet. He has my heart. Anyways, he gives me this cute card with tons of bible verses and stuff on it. And then at church he comes up to me and tells me that he forgot to put something in the card. He hands me a movie gift card!! Hahahah for those of you who don't know, as missionaries we aren't allowed to watch movies. But i took it and thanked him. It was so so sweet. I want to be a more thoughtful person.
• Family of 8 update!! The dad has his baptism THIS SATURDAY we are so excited!! They are so awesome and just so elect. When we told him about the WoW he just said, " if that is what God wants me to do, then I will do it" ahhhh Golden!! We are so pumped. And his daughters and wife want to get baptized now and its just so happy i could screammmm!! I just love how the gospel has completely united this family. They study in lessons together and hang out together and just love each other so much more now! I love it!

Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• This week was a hard week for finding new people to teach. We usually find so many people, but literally no one was listening to us and kept rejecting us. It was so weird. And it wasnt a lack of effort, we knocked an entire apartment building and whole street trying to find someone who would listen to our message. This never happens!! Well we started studying and searching and praying mightily to know what we needed to change. I was reasing in Alma 26 and i read verse 27: " Now when our hearts were depressed, and we were about to turn back, behold, the Lord comforted us, and said: Go amongst thy brethren, the Lamanites, and bear with patience thine afflictions, and I will give unto you success" Patience. Thats what i was missing. I needed to have patience. When we do our part, God wont make everything better right away. It is all in the Lord's timing. The perfect timing. And I needed to realize that. Slap in the face right there. That day we found 2 people! More than we had found for the whole week lol. The sceiptures are true, they are the word of God, and I needed that sleep in the face. Even though it hurt a little.

Some funny things that made me laugh:
• We were biking to a lesson and we went off a curb and all of a sudden Sister Seibolds bike chain starts grinding. It fell off. And it was IN THERE. Like so bad and we were so far from home. We are just hysterically laughing on the side of the road trying to yank this bike chain out of the wedge it was in. Hands just getting so black and greasy. Our dresses had grease on it. I yanked it so hard and then accidentally pinched Sister Seibolds hand. Oops. Finally we got it all figured out and then my pedals stopped working!! Then it started working after a bit. We were on the side of the road trying to fix the bikes for like 20 min!!
• So i learned how to ride my bike with no hands this week!! It is so fun and i do it all the time now lol. Buttt the other day i was biking with no hands and then crashed into a metal fence and guess what... i crashed my bike and broke my waterbottle AGAIN! So now i am on my 3rd metal watterbottle of the mission and its only the first transfer lol. Oops.
• We had a lesson with this ex homeless guy in a park that was in the middle of a neighborhood. We start the lesson and then all of a sudden we hear gun shots and car tires shreaking all around the outside of the neighborhood. This went on for like 5 mins!! Crazy!! We were safe and it all ended up being ok. But it was just so crazy!!

Drum roll pleaseπŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯Sister Rose time!!
I kind of mentioned this earlier, but this week I studied patience. PMG has an amazing quote about patience. It reads, "You work in partnership with God, trusting that when you have done your part, He will accomplish His work in His time and according to individual agency." That hit me like a truck!! After we do the work we need to do, our Heavenly Father does his part in His timing, because His timing is perfect!! Trust His timing. Trust in your Heavenly Father that loves you so much!

I love yall,
