The One Where I Sang to Someone

Hey y'all!! Its been a good one in Vegas! Nothing crazy happened. I call that a success. It's been a good time! So let's get into it......

Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• We put the Lockhart family's oldest daughter on date for baptism!! She is so excited and loves the gospel sooo much! When I see these young kids accept and love the gospel so much. It really makes me realize how much I took the gospel for granted and growing up in a gospel centered home. Where my mom sang "Love at Home" everyday ahahha. I am #grateful.
• Like I said last week. My trainer Sister Seibold went home, so that means a new comp for me! Sister Rasmussen is awesome! Great missionary and very fun and down to earth. We are gonna have a great transfer!!
• We had our Sierra Ranch ward Christmas party on Saturday and it was so fun!! I love the ward I am serving in so much!! They are so fun and so generous. I just love them! We had the best tamales, got to take pics with Santa, and got to do crafts with the primary kids. It was fun

Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• Leading the area is SO hard! Without Sister Seibold here, I don't have my little security net under me. I am the only one who knows the area right now and that is SCARY. Because i have to plan all our lessons based on what only I know about our friends. Its just hard lol. I am getting better at it and its only been 3 days. But its an adjustment. I just feel a little uneasy all the time and stressed. But it is getting a lot better already.
• I am not the best at teaching yet. We don't realize how hard it is to explain concepts that you have known your entire life to people who have no idea what it is. Its HARD. I try to simply teach, but it comes out just sounding dumb tbh. Its ok though. Study, prayer, and practice is a great recipe for success, so I am going to keep trying.

Some funny things that made me laugh:
• We had a quick phone lesson with a lady that referred herself on social media. Before the phone lesson we tried to knock her door, but no one opened the door even though I heard the TV hurry and turn off after we knocked. She admitted to me after the lesson that she was home that day πŸ€£ She was just always told not to open the door for "mormons" so she got scared lollll. That was so funny. She promised that she will open the door for us from now on.
• We had a really REALLY awkward member dinner the other night. This couple is really awkward and quiet. They are just very shy. We ate dinner, went to the bathroom, and filled our waters in the span of 35 minutes. Like SO fast. We usually have an hour for dinner. Anyways... so when Sister Rasmussen was using the bathroom, somehow reverence was brought up in our very awkward conversation. And i started singing the song "reverently, quietly, softly sing the melody" right as Sister Rasmussen was walking out of the bathroom. She asked me as we walked out, "Was it really that awkward that you had to start singing to them?" That made me giggle. I actually don't know why I felt the need to start singing. But it was funny. So if anything it was for comedic relief. Because we needed that in there.

Drum roll pleaseπŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯Sister Rose time!!

Its Christmas time! So everyone go read Luke 2. The story of our Savior's birth. I am so grateful for the knowledge that we have about our Savior Jesus Christ. He is my personal Savior. I know that my Savior lives. I know that He carries all of my burdens so that i can live with my Heavenly Father. I know that I have a Heavenly Father that loves me, knows me, and wants me to live with Him again. That is why He sent His son to die for you and me. That is why He sent His son to take upon himself all my sins. Because He did this, we have Hope. Because He did this, we have Peace. Because He did this, we have Happiness. Because He did this, we can Live. I am so grateful for this season. I am so grateful for my Savior and my Heavenly Father. Don't forget the reason for the season as we celebrate Christmas this year!!

I love y'all,
