The One Where I Am Back in College (Teaching the Children of God)
Hey y'all!! First week in Henderson and it was THE BEST! The Foothills YSA ward has the most quirkiest people in it and I am loving it! I have the best comp ever and I am just so so happy! Lets get into it......
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• I love campus finding! We have two college campuses in our area and it is the best!! We just get to talk about Jesus to so so many college students who are looking for peace! We had a miracle day yesterday. We had a member come and help us campus find. We were struggling with finding earlier in the week, but we found 6 PEOPLE on campus yesterday! Like every person who we asked to share a message about Jesus Christ said YES! It was so cool!! We went from having 5 people in our teaching pool to 11!!! Yay!
• We talk to EVERYONE! And its actually kind of a game for me to see the most awkward/crazy situations i can stop somebody to talk to them. I think I hit my record yesterday. I stopped a guy on his motorcycle while he was literally riding on the road. And he stopped! Turns out he was a less active member who has been going through a hard time and his mom is in the hospital. So we prayed with him! So cool! Follow promptings!
• We met a kid a couple days ago and had a power lesson when we first met him. We were so excited! But he blocked our number after!! Rude. Anyways, we go on campus and guess who we see studying at the table! The kid! Darren! And he goes hey. You wanna do our lesson right now! Uh yaaaa! So we had a fire lesson with him and our member that had came with us! It was so cool. And i shamelessly called him out for blocking us and he unblocked us!
• Darren and another guy we found yesterday came to FHE!!! It was so cool! Sister Gariety said that she has never had someone actually come to FHE the first week we met them. So cool. The ward really fellowshipped them and it was just amazing!
• We have been praying for being able to find peopLe who will progress to baptism and are ready. God is aware of us and answers our prayers. So cool.
Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• Being in and having to learn a new area is hard! Sometimes it feels like I am back in training. But i am learning a lot and adjusting well
• I miss my people in Sierra Ranch! Especially my Lockhart family!! I love my new members and friends, but I just miss some people!!
• Ok so remember how last week I was complaining about how it was so cold well..... now I'm gonna be complaining about how hot it is here. It is literally 70 degrees now and so sunny. In January. Rude. But ill get over it. The oven is now preheating. yay

Some funny things that made me laugh:
• We have had some funny rejections this week. I love funny rejections so much, like if you are gonna reject me, at least give me a good story! Here some good ones: we offered a scripture to a guy and he goes "Im cruisin!
" glad your cruisin bro. Then we knock in thus ladies door. She opens the door and looks at us and goes "Oh....
" and shakes her finger at us lollllll.

We have a tilapia breeder, a recent convert that follows us all around the church, and some D&D couples, quote of the week-> "he has the entire D&D rules and regulations handbook memorized, SO HOT!!" I love this ward.
• One of our friends signed up for dinner with us and gave us brownies for dinner loll. He hands them to us and goes " Brownies! YASS" and claps his hands and jumps up and down. Love brownies for dinner.
• Sister Gariety and I are having SO MUCH fun together!! She is the best! We just laugh and giggle and joke together the entire day! Our throats actually hurt from laughing so hard.
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!

Sister Rose time!!Remember!! Satan's greatest tool is forgetting. So many times in the scriptures, people forget what the Lord has done for them and they begin to become wicked! We watch it happen to Lamen and Lemuel and the Nephites and just so many people. But you know what it happens to us too!! We forget miracles we see in our lives!! I was looking at my journal the other day and had forgotten about so many cool miracles that I had seen thus far in my mission! There is a talk about this by Pres Eyring- here's a quote
"I wrote down a few lines every day for years. I never missed a day no matter how tired I was or how early I would have to start the next day. Before I would write, I would ponder this question: “Have I seen the hand of God reaching out to touch us or our children or our family today?” As I kept at it, something began to happen. As I would cast my mind over the day, I would see evidence of what God had done for one of us that I had not recognized in the busy moments of the day. As that happened, and it happened often, I realized that trying to remember had allowed God to show me what He had done."
So this week, lets all write down the miracles and hand of Lord we have seen in our life. Because we DO NOT want to be as stupid as Lamen and Lemuel and have absolute miracles happen to us and just forget all about it and become wicked!
I love y'all,
Sister Rose
