The One Where We Invite Everyone and Their Dog to Be Baptized
Hey y'all! Another week full of miracles in North Las Vegas! It was a pretty darn good week! Let's get into it....
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• Ai'jayane's baptism is this weekend!! We are so excited and she is too!! We had a lesson with her yesterday and she started doing a cute little giddy shriek when we told her it was this weekend! She is so ready to be baptized. And we are already prepared for it, so no crazy crunch time this time like my last two baptisms lol. And her dad Tray is going to baptize her!! I just love the joy that Ai'jayane feels about the gospel!
• President Vance invited us all to invite someone to be baptized every day this week. That is scary lol. But we decided to take on the challenge. We asked someone to be baptized or prepare for baptism pretty much every day this week. And we have another person on date and a few others that said they do want to be baptized soon. God is preparing people!! So cool.
• One day we were biking to a lesson that we were going to be right on time too. I saw a girl struggling on her bike up ahead and I thought, " we shouldn't stop because we are going to be late if we do." But then the spirit rebuked me and said " Sister Rose get your booty to that girl, we talk to EVERYONE." So I braked so hard, Sister Rasmussen crashed right into the back of me, and then I asked if she wanted to hear a message! SHE DID! And i helped her fix her bike seat and we set up a time to teach her again!! So cool. Follow promptings and talk to everyone!!
• We had the BEST lesson with our friend Dustin! The spirit was SO STRONG. I was just grinnin from ear to ear the entire time. We taught him about the temple and showed him the Rome Italy temple tour video. Now we have been trying to set a date for Dustin to be baptized for like a month now and guess what he said at this lesson! He said that it is not an if, but a when!!! Yay. Its so close.
Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• I mentioned this last week, but it is still relevant. I have knocked every door in this area like 4 times already. My area is teeny tiny. We hit every neighborhood every week. I am a little tired of knocking the same doors, so we practically just knock random doors and tract all the time. And I am seeing the same people outside everyday and I have already street contacted them before and they said no. But I still offer a message to them every time I see them and they still say no. Its ok though. But lets just say that 2 months in this area is long.
• People are mean sometimes. A lady this week told us that she would call the cops on us. Excuse me, constitution who?? We are allowed to do this. And a guy told us the other day to "please leave the premises before I get really angry". That one was actually really funny though. That's ok though. They are still children of God and he loves them, so I should too
Some funny things that made me laugh:
• Sister Rasmussen is SO bad at braking on her bike. She runs into me when I street contact people alllll the time. I told her that one time and i had her test her brakes to see if they were working and she said, " its just my reaction time!" Lolll it was.
• Sister Rasmussen FROZE up at a door the other day. When they opened the door she said hi and then she just stopped. I looked at her and she didn't say anything for like 5 seconds. It was awkward. So then i started talking lolll. After she was like, "woah i just had a stupor of thought" lollll this is why we have companions.
• Ai'jayane had her baptismal interview this week. So the district leader came over to her house with us for the interview. We knocked on the door and Ai'jayane comes to the door and yells through the door, " just a second! Let me put some pants on!" Hahahaha thank you Ai'jayane for putting pants on before opening the door with the poor Elders out here. Good thinking.
• This testimony meeting was chaos! We had 2 friends at church. We have one man in our ward that is a little bit of a dooms day prep person. He got up and bore his testimony on how we have to prepare and take out cash and build bunkers, because this world is gonna get so bad and the end of the world is coming. It was weird and I just prayed that the spirit would help our friends go to sleep during his testimony. Everyone was a little scared after. One of our recent converts asked us if that was true. We just told him that God has told us not fear. It will all work out and we know the scoreboard at the end already.
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!

Sister Rose time!!Alma 37:37. "Counsel with the Lord in all thy doings, and he will direct thee for good; yea, when thou liest down at night lie down unto the Lord, that he may watch over you in your sleep; and when thou risest in the morning let thy heart be full of thanks unto God; and if ye do these things, ye shall be lifted up at the last day"
As we counsel with the Lord in everything we do. As we involve the Lord in everything we do. He will be able to direct us to whatever will be best for us and help us in the long run. Miracles come and are noticed when we listen to the spirit and let it guide our lives. The spirit will only guide as we let it. So let the spirit guide your life. And counsel with the Lord in all you do.
I love y'all,
Sister Rose
