The One Where I Learned
Hey ya'll!! It was a wonderful week in the YSA ward. I love this ward so much. Lets get into it....
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• We had an awesome Zone conference on Wednesday!! #grateful for other missionaries! It is so so fun to get together with people that can relate and just buoy you up. And I learned so much from the trainings and discussions that we had. LOVE IT!!
• We have been building awesome relationships with the members by bringing them out with u to find on campus! It is so fun to get to know our members (especially because we are the same age as them) and give them advice about life (even though they all pretty much have careers and lives and I am a little 20 year old). I LOVE OUR MEMBERS
• We met a girl named Ty on CSN campus last week. She said that she used to live with some members and said she really wants to come to church with us!! We texted her the church info and she said she would be there! Little did we know that she walked an HOUR to church!! She is so so cute!! AND she said that she invited one of her friends, and his parents went inactive when he was born! So he isn't baptized. What!?! Anyways, such a miraculous Sunday. We had two friends at church and they were fellowshipped by the ward so so well.
Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• I don't know why, but when people reject us in a mean way. My instant reaction is to attack their character and say something mean once we leave the interaction. Like "They're rude" or "well I didn't even want to talk to you anyway" or "well who even asked?". WHY IS THAT MY IMMEDIATE REACTION? That is so mean. That is not what the Savior taught! That is a trap that Satan wants me to think is ok. I have been working this week on responding how the Savior would when people reject me. I had a personal study on this, because I needed help. And then I prayed for opportunities to exercise self control and kindness when people reject me. Don't pray for things that are hard lol unless you are ready for it. Because dangggg Heavenly Father deliverssss. We were rejected left and right and I really got to practice keeping my cool and showing Christlike love. I got better as the day went on! I am grateful for that opportunity that I had to learn and grow.
Some funny things that made me laugh:
• WE GOT TO BIKE AGAIN THIS WEEK!! #reunitedwithmybike. I have missed biking so much!! I know what you are thinking, "Oh no! another water bottle broken or another crash ensued. But nope! Sister Gariety's bike was being really funny and wouldn't shift into the right gear, so the pedals were just sooo easy to pedal. No traction at all, so she was going sooooo slow. I forgot to look back and she was like WAYSSS away lol oops. She looked like in Wizard of Oz when the witch is riding her bike in the tornado and she isn't really going anywhere loll. So funny.
• We were biking up this huge steep hill and it literally almost made us pass out. People walking by us were honestly going faster than us on our bikes it was hilarious!!
• Sister Gariety tried to make me eat a dandelion that she saw on the side of the sidewalk, but I was one step ahead of her and opened my mouth for her to put it in loll. I might include that video.
• Sister Gariety and I have been doing this voice together, we call it the "goggle kid" voice. Its like a raspy little kid voice. But we do it way too much and I accidentally started a prayer with the voice the other day!!OOPS
• Really just Sister Gariety and I's whole existence together is just funny. We literally laugh the entire day, and get so much work done together. I just wish you guys could walk around with us and just witness us together lolll. She's a fun one.
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!

Sister Rose time!!I read in Helaman 4 and I read verse 25. Go read it. It talks about how we need to cleave unto the Lord. I looked up the word cleave and it talks about holding on and resisting letting go. Cleaving unto the Lord, takes effort. But in Jacob 6:5 it talks about how the lord is also cleaving to us!! So my invitation this week is.... how can you cleave unto the Lord this week??
I love ya'll,
Sister Rose
