The One Where It's a Zoo Out Here

Hey y'all!! Another great week in Henderson! I am almost at my 5 month mark. Which is actually really weird, because I feel like I just got here like 2 days ago. But that's ok, it wouldn't be as fun if I was just good at everything. I bet you are dying to hear what happened tis week. Let's get into it....

Some happy things and what I learned from them :
• We had absolutely FIRE lessons with our progressing friends this week! Ty and Khan are moving along quite nicely. Ty has struggled with knowing if there is one or multiple Gods and we are just trying to help her grow her faith in just a Heavenly father who loves us. She said that ever since meeting with us she has really felt him watching over her. It is so cool that she is recognizing the spirit, because it takes people sooo long to actually recognize him. I just love our friends that we are teaching right now!! Khan literally asks us to give him a chapter to read all the time! It is so cool to see. Sometimes I forget how cool the Book of Mormon really is. It is literally the word of God!!
• We ran a 5K this week!! I had to sneak attack it on us, we were gonna do 2.5 miles and then I told Sister Gariety in the middle of it "we are gonna go for the gold" and she was actually angry because she wasn't feeling it. But we did it! And she was happy after. We completed our goal for the transfer.
• We got to help teach mission prep this week and it was the best!! I just think it is so cool when I think about the missionaries that used to do ti for us and I thought they were so cool. And now I am those missionaries, but I'm actually not that cool. But they think I'm cool, I hope. Anyways it was fun. GO SERVE A MISSION, ITS THE BEST THING EVER!!
• We met a super sweet lady and asked if she wanted to hear a scripture and she just started balling. She said that she really needed one. So we read her Mosiah 24:13-15 (go read it). She said that it was literally exactly what she needed and we gave her hugs!! I love being an instrument in the Lord's hands. He literally just puts us exactly where we need to be. It is so cool.
• Khan and Aidan came to church!! It was awesome. We have been trying to get Khan to church for like 5 weeks, so it was a win!!

Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• This week was honestly a really hard one. Some breakdowns did occur due to exhaustion and the adversary. But nothing that prayer, a priesthood blessing, and a goodnights sleep can't handle. The adversary just really works hard on messengers of the Lord tbh. But my head is up and I am still thriving. I will continue to crush Satan's head, thank you very much.
• We had a hard start to the day yesterday. We walked out of our apartment and immediately got #BASHED. Love it. It was just a bash sesh that we just did not speak and he just yelled. Great... but the work must go on. Then we got hit on by a creepy dude that we street contacted. and we just felt uneasy. But I prayed that these things wouldn't define my day. AND THEN we went to a members house to meet him and he had a literal CAMEL in his backyard, along with goats, chickens, horses, cows and THE sweetest dogs ever!! We just pet the dogs and talked to the dude and it was just so enjoyable. Definitely exactly what we needed. God literally just knows me and Sister Gariety so well!! Then, we went to a lesson with one of our recent converts and HE MADE US LUNCH! And set up a cute little picnic in front of the church for us. I am just so grateful. Then the day turned around from there and we saw God's hand like the entire day!!

Some funny things that made me laugh:
• I LITERALLY ALMOST BURNED DOWN OUR APARTMENT!! We were weekly planning and I wanted some popcorn, so I popped some into the microwave... for 4 minutes. Oops. Literal billows of smoke came smoking out of the microwave and we ended up having to do weekly planning outside because you couldn't even be in the apartment without your eyes burning lol. But we are all good now.
• We got more lemons from the same guy from last time!! I missed that guy.
• We have a few male members of our YSA that love to help with the missionary work, but they are a little too flirty with the sister MISSIONARIES. Like no sir. I am a missionary. These RMs are just a little too bold lolll.
• We had dinner with these sweet member of our ward that loves
• This week is the last week of the transfer (don't even talk to me about it, because Sister Gariety is going home) and one of our members who we have lessons this week got Sister Gariety a stuffed chicken as a parting gift loll. We named him El Pollo Luis after him. So random.

Drum roll pleaseπŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯ Sister Rose time!
I have loved noticing and really focusing on the Lord's hand in my life this week. He just blesses us so much and sometimes we don't even recognize it. The scripture Alma 26:37 comes to mind, "Now my brethren, we see that God is mindful of every people, whatsoever land they may be in; yea, he numbereth his people, and his bowels of mercy are over all the earth. Now this is my joy, and my great thanksgiving; yea, and I will give thanks unto my God forever. Amen." This week, write down and really think about how you have seen the Lord's hand in your life everyday. I can promise that as you do that, you will be able to feel and see God's love for you more abundantly everyday!

I love y'all
