The One Where "Supah Boh"
Hey ya'll!! This is gonna be a quick one, because I literally procrastinated this so hard. BUTT this was a great week in the Foothills YSA ward!! Let's get into it....
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• We put our friend Khan on date for baptism!! We are so excited. We found him about 2 weeks ago on CSN campus and he is just so prepared. Our Heavenly Father puts so many amazing people in our path and he is our miracle! He loves the Book of Mormon and reads even more than we assign to him every time! He is awesome! We put him on date for March 9th and he is very excited to learn more and continue to progress! We were worried, because he said that he has been baptized before, but he has gained a testimony of the priesthood and proper authority, which is literally an answer to our prayers! The Lord's work is perfect through Him!! We are so excited!
• Yesterday we street contacted this guy while on campus with a member. He said that he is not the right person to talk to right now, because he literally just (word of wisdomed) lol. The members goes "Jesus ministered to the sinners, not the righteous!" and he says while almost tearing up "These sisters have a message to share that will literally change your life. Just give them 30 seconds." It was crazy. The spirit was so so strong and we just shared about Jesus love for him and he ended up being interested. It was SO cool!
• I got to bike this week!! I didn't get a pic, but I was back in my element! It was so fun to feel the wind in my hair again as I ride through the streets lookin like a whole biker gang member again!! I love it. Lol we don't actually look that cool, we have to wear reflective vests anytime we are on our bike. Yes, even in the day time. Yes, we look like idiots. Dress, binder clip to close the dress, reflective neon vests, helmet hair, and little legs pedalin for our lives. We look cute. But anyways, we found two people while biking in the sisters area that has been struggling to find people to teach! Yay, as the elders say.... Biking is POWER.
Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• We had a discouraging day where we felt so so drained and tired, but also an underlying feeling that we weren't doing enough, we weren't good enough, and our efforts weren't enough. But Satan is the one who wants us to feel like that. My companion and I both came home and just knelt down to say a mighty prayer of gratitude and repentance. We both came back together with an overwhelming feeling that our Heavenly Father is proud of us!! So so proud of us and loves us so much! I am grateful that as we turn to Him, we can feel peace. Our Heavenly Father does not ever cause feelings of self doubt and discouragement and fear. He only uplifts and helps us.
• Our friends didn't come to church this week! Not one. That was a little discouraging, but we tried so hard! It is so hard to get people to come to church and it is so hard for me to understand that, because it is just so natural to me.
• I am working on empathy. It is so hard for me to think about what other people are going through and be able to know what they need and how I can help them. I have been really praying for the gift of empathy recently. And I am still working on developing that gift. But it's ok, because I have the ULTIMATE example of that. Jesus Christ!! So I am going to continue to study his life!!
Some funny things that made me laugh:
• Our cute neighbor, who always gives us notes and food, bet on the Super Bowl that there would be an overtime. And guess what, he won the bet. So he gave the money to us lol. We tried to get him to give up gambling if we took the money. But he wouldn't do that lol. So he gave us a whole wad of $38 in all one dollar bills. He is so funny!! We got some Chick-fil-a
• We had Super Bowl snacks from our ward mission leader and also threw a football in our apartment so that we could say that we had our own Super Bowl. Just so you guys know, I did pray that the Chiefs (Taylor Swift) would win the super bowl, so guess what?! Prayer works.
• We got to go to a mine tour in a ghost town and Sister Gariety and I did a little Mexican showdown. I think that is what it is called lol. It was so cool, but Sister Gariety is claustrophobic, so she held my hand as we went into the mine underground lol.
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!!

Sister Rose time!!!I just love this scripture. 1 Nephi 8:30 "But, to be short in writing, behold, he saw other multitudes pressing forward; and they came and caught hold of the end of the rod of iron; and they did press their way forward, continually holding fast to the rod of iron, until they came forth and fell down and partook of the fruit of the tree"
We need to CONTINUALLY HOLD FAST. We need to be partaking of the gospel everyday. So I invite you to partake daily in the gospel! As you do this, you will be able to feel of the magnitude and truthfulness of the statement that God is mindful of you and loves you so much!
I love ya'll,
Sister Rose
