The One Where There are Too Many Arsenists in Vegas

Hey yall!!!

We got transfer news this morning. I have been praying so hard to stay in this area and guess what!?!?! I am staying in the Foothills YSA ward!! I am so excited, because we have so many good things happening here! Sadly Sister Hanes is leaving and is actually going to another YSA in Henderson! I am getting a new companion, Sister Stoddart and I have talked with her a few times and she's the best, so I am so excited!! Yayay. But lets get into it......

Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• We met Dana a week and a half ago, she was a referral from the elders. We met with her for a lesson and felt her spirit right away. We invited her to come watch general conference with us and she came to BOTH sessions on Sunday. She was amazed by the beauty of the temples. She came to FHE on Monday night and since then has gone to other activities that the ward members have invited her to! When we met for her second lesson she had already started reading the Book of Mormon and we can see her testimony growing! We felt the prompting to invite her to be baptized and she accepted! I had the prompting to let her know about priesthood blessings, because she has had migraines everyday for a lot of her life. She said she wanted one right now. A priesthood holder gave her a priesthood blessing and the spirit was so strong! When the blessing was done she said she could literally feel Christ's hands blessing her! Just so cool! She was just in tears and we are so excited for her!!
• Aidan is coming along and progressing well! We are so excited for him! We just scheduled his baptismal interview.
• We had a really good training on Monday morning and Sister Hanes and I were fired up and ready to do the work. We found 5 people on campus in an hour!! Super cool!!
• i am just so grateful that I get to stay another transfer here. It was making me tear up thinking about saying bye to all the people here.
• You guys!! The guys that lit the firework in the churchhhh..... they got arrested!! So thank you all for the prayers!! They were two twin brothers, both 18. They have been caught!!! I don't have to be scared to go to the church building anymore! Yay!

Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• We were teaching a cute girl who just moved into the ward the missionary lessons. She is a returning member. She had a family situation happen, so the bishop got her a hotel room. She called us on Saturday night and asked us to come say a prayer with her. We rushed over and she just looked so sad and defeated. It was so sad. The next day we text her and she never texts us back. Then we get a call from the relief society president telling us that she got arrested because SHE LIT HER HOTEL ROOM ON FIRE. Whack. Just crazy. Poor girl. So she got arrested for arson. Keep in mind, I don't think she was all there completely. Anyways. What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. There are some whackydoodle people here lol.
• Sometimes days are hard, but I focused this week on finding joy in the littlest things!!

Some funny things that made me laugh:
• Sister Hanes and I have been just giggling about crazy people that we meet everyday.
• I cant really remember anything from this week honestly. Sometimes its hard to be funny when the only thing that makes me laugh now is Book of Mormon and missionary jokes. I'm kinda lame now yall. Ew.

Drum roll pleaseπŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯Sister Rose time!!
I have been studying the preach my gospel lessons a lot this week. I am so grateful that I have this time to just teach and gain a testimony of the simple, truthful, loving doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ!! I want to invite you all to just read the lessons in chapter 3 of preach my gospel!! They are so hopeful and help you to truly understand what we believe and why and how that can help you find peace in life!! I love this gospel!! I am grateful eternally for Jesus Christ. And I know that God loves us so much and would never stop speaking to his children!!

I love yall!
Sister Rose
