The One Where Dasani is an Unpopular Opinion

Hey yall! It was a great week! We are now officially the Nevada Henderson mission!! So crazy. It split yesterday. Yet again, I don't remember that much from the week, but lets see what I can pull out of my brain!! Let´s get into it....

Some happy things and what I learned from them:
 • Two lessons cancelled the other night and we forgot to plan a back up. I was stressing to know where to go and Sister Wright said that we should say a prayer. So we did!! And where we decided to go, we found 2 people there!! The spirit guides. I am so grateful that Sister Wright was so in tune to the spirit and was able to calm down and follow the spirit. I can sometimes be a stress ball!
 • Dana passed her baptismal interview. She was so nervous, but she did it!! Yay! She is so ready. She has already planned her entire baptism.
 • We had an awesome lesson with Amor this week about temples!! He loved learning about the temple. Plus, we had a returning member there for the lesson and she bore her testimony about the temple!! It was so powerful. The spirit was so strong. I was so grateful to have been there for that lesson.
 • We got to go exchanges this week. I love our STL, Sister Rowley. She is such a good example to me of Christlike love and service. The people in our lives are so important to learn from and grow from. Grateful for awesome sisters that I serve with and learn from everyday.
 • We went to another sisters' baptism for their friend and brought two of our friends who are on date right now. It was such a good time. It helped our friends to feel more confident for their baptisms. The spirit was so strong at the baptism.
 • We dropped off a little care package for our recent convert on Sunday. He has been going through a lot recently.
 • We went to an apartment complex that I have gone to about 5 times since I have been here and every time I always knock this one door that has a pink and white checkered door mat. But they have never answered. this time we went to go knock it again and they answered!! They were YSA aged!! And they were interested! So cool that the spirit has drawn me to that door every time!!
• my mommy sent me new shoes. She's the best!

Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• One of our friends is facing a lot of adversity that will prevent him from getting baptized, but he really really wants to be baptized. Again, we are in a position where we feel helpless. But I know that prayer works. It has my entire life and God is a God of miracles and He hasn't stopped being a God of miracles now. So I am going to trust in the Lord and let Him take it. That's hard for me.
• It's hot. Keep the prayers coming though, because they are strengthening us and we can feel it.
• Some days are hard to be motivated and keep going. But, as we pray for strength, the Lord truly does strengthen and help us. (Mosiah 24:13-15)

Some funny things that made me laugh:
• There is an elder that used to be in our mission, but went home right before I came in moved back here to be with his new girlfriend that he actually met on the mish. They are in my ward now and they had us over for dinner. They are SO pda. It was actually making me very uncomfortable at dinner. Twas funny funny.
• Last night a lady started singing πŸŽΆSweet Jesus Sweet Jesus🎢 to us and I laughed, but covered it up really well by saying AWW. and then she gave us a gooood minute long group hug. That was an experience.
• We asked this guy how he he found peace and he goes " Well, I smoke weed myself". Great.
• Somehow we got talking about different types of waters to Dana and some of our other friends at church. I said that my favorite type of water was Dasani (which I did not know would be SUCH an unpopular opinion). Dana literally gasped and said that we cant be friends anymore lolll. I think Dasani is so good. I guess I am weird.

Drum roll pleaseπŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯Sister Rose time!!
This week I have been thinking about the importance of being a leader and not a follower. Except for being a follower of Jesus Christ. I was thinking about Alma when he was the only one that believed in Abinadi and what he was teaching. It would have been so easy for him to just say that he did believe Abinadi, but he felt the importance of following and acting on what you know to be true and righteous. This week, read Mosiah 17-18 and let me know how you can apply it to become a leader and not a follower. How can you set aside the thoughts and judgements of others and focus on what our loving Heavenly Father wants for you?

I love yall!
Sister Rose
