The One Where God is Great
Hey yall!!
Good week in the foothills YSA ward. We divided the area and are definitely multiplying!! So cool how the Lord works!! God's math is so much greater. Let's get into it.....
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• if you don't remember, last week was a difficult week. We had to take a few people off date and a lot of our friends broke up with us :(. BUT the Lord was preparing more people to accept the gospel of Jesus Christ!! This week we called a guy who had been taught by the missionaries in the past and we decided to bring up baptism and how we need to be confirmed with the gift of the Holy Ghost. He said that he wants to be baptized!! We put him on date for September 8th!! He was so excited! His name is Dominic. He said, " I am so excited to be baptized! This feels like exactly what God wants for me right now!" Yay for Dominic!
• I had an amazing exchange with Sister Schefer! She is amazing. This is her last transfer and I am so glad that I am her STL this transfer so that I can learn soooo much from her. She is awesome. We had a goal to find 4 people and talk to 50 people that day. And we did it!! She is so good at prayerfully setting and achieving goals. I learned a lot and we had fun and giggled the entire time. Tehehe. She also complimented me on how fun I make the work, she said that she sometimes has a hard time laughing and finding joy while knocking and stuff, but not with me. That was the sweetest compliment ever. I love her.
• We had zone conference yesterday. It was literally amazing. Plus all the sisters in our apartment all wore pink and it was adorable and we got so many compliments. Anyways, back to zone conference. We were talking about the sacrament and what it can mean for us. And then President Vance told us that he got revelation the night before that God is so proud of us and all the work we are doing... that literally made me cry. Sometimes I feel like I am never doing enough and that God just wants me to do better. He does want me to do better, but also he is proud of us where we are at!!
Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• Sister Schefer and I got talking about how hard the mission has been. It is mentally and physically draining sometimes. But then we finished off with how much we have learned and how much we have grown and how we wouldn't change it for the world!! Funny how Gods plan, where we experience trials and heartaches and joy, is so perfect and we learn so much!! God truly loves us so much!!
• My bike tire went flat again. Crap. It was a different one this time, so I will be fixing that today as well.
Some funny things that made me laugh:
• I got permission from one of our members to tell this story: so there is a member named Quade in our ward, he is the definition of chaos. He is so funny. He knows and tries to be chaos too, he is in on it. Just hilarious. We were cleaning up chairs this Sunday and we challenged him to pick up 4 chairs on his arms lollll. He did it. Picture included.
• I made a nice dinner and then dumped it all over the ground on accident. Sad. Picture included.
• I collect pennies from the streets of Henderson lol. I hut the jackpot the other day. Picture included.
• I cant think of anything else sorry. This week was a blur.
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!

Sister Rose time!!The sacrament. I am so grateful for the sacrament. This quote put into perspective what it can mean for us:
"The ordinance of the sacrament is a holy and repeated invitation to repent sincerely and to be renewed spiritually. The act of partaking of the sacrament, in and of itself, does not remit sins. But as we prepare conscientiously and participate in this holy ordinance with a broken heart and a contrite spirit, then the promise is that we may always have the Spirit of the Lord to be with us. And by the sanctifying power of the Holy Ghost as our constant companion, we can always retain a remission of our sins." - Elder Bednar "Always Retain a Remission of Your Sins"
Wow. Powerful. I never want to miss an opportunity to partake of the sacrament. I will never let vacation or a sports game or anything take away my opportunity to be cleansed through my Savior Jesus Christ and through the sacrament. What does the sacrament mean for you? Also, you should watch this video. It's one of my favs about the sacrament:
Remember Jesus Christ
I love yall!
