The One Where I Am Pregnant Again...

Hey yall! Guess what..... it's transfer week. You know what that means!! Transfer news! I am staying here in Anthem/Democracy/Seven Hills and training a new missionary, so I am giving birth again!! Yay!! This time I am really happy to train, because Sister Wright helped me to have a good experience last time. I am excited. ALSO! Sister Liljenquist and Sister Wright, two of my precious trainees, are both training too!! I am so excited! They are both amazing sisters and going to kill it! I love you Sister Wright, you are so ready! Let's get into it....

Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• We met a new friend, Veronica, who has been taught by missionaries a little bit in the past. We stopped by her house and her husband said to come back the next day. So we did. And she was SOOO happy! She was so grateful that we stopped by, because she has been GOING THROUGH IT! We read Mosiah 24:13-15 with her and talked about how the Lord strengthens us. And we invited her to be baptized. She was so excited!! She is getting baptized October 26th. She came to church and our ward was the again the sweetest to them and her lil son! It was such a miracle. God truly prepares people!!
• Our friend Josh is literally the coolest! He is reading along with Come Follow Me with his wife. I didn't even do that before my mission (I know, I was so bad.) I just love when people love the gospel and seek to learn on their own and by the spirit!!
• We had a fireeee lesson with a part member family whose wife is not a member. We just asked to do practice lessons with them, but when we went over to talk about the plan of salvation, she loved it and had SO many questions. Yayyyyy. She is going to start reading the Book of Mormon. MIRACLE!
• Tegan and his mom had us over for lunch and it was such a joy. I love them. Tegan is my bestie. We are at the table and his parents and Sis L start talking about computer science stuff and me and Tegan look at each other and just shrug lollll.
• I went on exchanges with Sister Nielson. She came out with me and we have never served around each other until this transfer. It was so fun to see how much each other have changed and developed on our missions. It's amazing. I love her!

Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• I feel like it is so hard to get to know our wards, because sometimes I feel like a burden on them when I talk to them. I don't know why, they just have tons of kids and things to deal with and I feel like talking to me is just a burden on them. BUT this week I am going to look for ways to not be a burden and make their burdens light!! Give me some ideas!!
• Sister Liljenquist is leaving and I am so sad. I LOVE her. Btw she is going to kill it out there. She makes me giggle so hard.

Some funny things that made me laugh:
• We stopped by this lady that said she had an infectious disease!! But she insisted on praying for us through the door. I am pretty sure she cursed us. We didn't really hear what she said, but it felt creepy and it was something about people dying young. So I need everyone to pray for me against that prayer.....
• We played volleyball today, Elders against Sisters plus Elder Felila and we won the first game. We won't talk about the next two.
• We made a haunted gingerbread house today.
• We were at a member dinner and I told them I was from Georgia. This game never works, but then they proceeded to ask me if I knew Corey Anderson. I almost instinctively said no, but then I was like OH WAIT I do know them. They then proceeded to facetime the Anderson family in my home ward!! So presh! I love making connections with people. so funny, their son is literally dating my cousin. smalllll world.
• i can't think of anything else. And I'm not funny anymore (I'm with you Pierce) so ya byeeee

Drum roll pleaseπŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯Sister Rose time!!
I LOVED reading this talk this week!! I have always struggled with what trusting in the Lord looks like for me on my mission. I can't explain how this helped me to put that into tangible terms, but it did and hopefully it can help you. It is a quote from the talk "Humble to Accept and Follow" by Elder Koch in October 2023.

"Not long ago the level of my humility and understanding of my dependence on the Lord was once again tested. I was in a taxi going to the airport to catch a short flight to a place where there was a very difficult situation to solve. The taxi driver, who was not a member of the Church, looked at me through the mirror and said, “I can see you’re not well today!”
“Could you tell?” I asked.
“Of course,” he said.
Then he said something like, “You actually have a very negative halo around you!”
I explained to him that I had quite a hard situation to deal with, and he then asked me, “Have you done everything in your power to solve this?”
I responded I had done everything I could.
He then said something I have never forgotten: “So leave this in God’s hands, and everything will work out fine.”"

Wow. Just wow. I will let the spirit teach you what he needs to teach you from that. I am grateful for my Savior. He will take what you give Him.

I love yall!
Sister Rose
