The One Where I Freakin Love Being a Servant of The Lord
Hey yall! This was an amazing week! I love being a missionary. I was just in awe this week of how grateful I am to have this time to learn how to trust in the Lord wih everything and how to serve Him. Let's get into it.......
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• Renee got baptized!! Se has been such a joy to teach. Truly prepared from the beginning. I don't know if I have already told her story, but I am going to tell it now, just in case. Her step daughter referred her to the missionaries about 2 years ago. She told the missionaries that she was not ready yet and that she would call them when she was ready. Well... last transfer she called the sisters here and said she was ready and had already bought herself a journal Book of Mormon. She was ready to feel the joy and peace that her step daughter and her family experienced and emulated. She accepted and loved everything we taught with no questions asked. She goes, "It just all makes sense!!". I truly feel so humbled tat I was able to teach her. She was so happy to be baptized, she sang amazing grace at her baptism and bore her testimony! And her step daughter and her family got to come to the baptism. Her husband is next........
• Damian got baptized!! His wife and kids are members and he was ready!! It was actually a miracle that we pulled off his baptism, because it was not planned all the way until literally the day of. It was a crazy week..... He said in his testimony at his baptism that when we knocked on his door the first time, he actually had been thinking about being baptized and then we taught him about it! So cool! His family was so happy when they came to church. they are a more solemn and reserved family, but they were all grinnin at church the next day!!! Yayyyyy eternal families!
• Sister Duryee is freaking amazing yall!! I love her and look up to her so much!! We had a goal to find 13 people and we met that goal!! And we had meetings in the morning until like 2pm. POWER! We had only found 12 people at 8:55pm. We were driving home and I was calling people to try to find that one lost person! No one was answering their dang phone!! Then we see a guy walking his dog. Sis Duryee pulls over and we ask if he wanted to hear a scripture and he did!! We found 13 people! Powerful!
• We played zone softball today!! My team won. I would expect nothing less.
• I had exchanges with Sister Bagley and she had me rolling with laughter the entire day.
• We had interviews with President and it was good!!
Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• This week was actually so amazing and I really can' think of anything bad this week....
• Missions are no sunshine and rainbows all the time..... but this week was pretty darn fire. I love being a missionary.
• I have learned and been stretched so much on my mission, but I am the happiest and learning the most than I ever have been in my life!!
Some funny things that made me laugh:
• Brenden Urie's parents live in our ward and had us over for dinner!! They are the sweetest.... they do in fact have an entire room devoted to him and his band. They call it the PANIC room lollll. His band is panic at the disco. I only remember one song from him, High Hopes. So ya. We got a pick signed by him, so we're pretty cool.
• We had to teach the law of chastity to a 12 year old this week.... awkwardest thing I have ever done. Quote from him "no doing weird stuff before your married" lolll trueeee
• Today we saw a guy driving with dirt in the back of his truck and we were in awe that it wasn't sliding out. Sister Bagley rolls down her window and asks him how it isn't falling out and he was like IDK!! And we were wiggin out together because of gravity. And he told us that he is building a horse ranch and that he lives next to Shaq and Mike Tyson. And he told us where he lives so now we know where they live.... so we will be visiting them soon. Oh and this convo was all while we were driving to our zone softball game lolllll. We have no shame anymore.
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!

Sister Rose time!!I read this week the talk titled "In Awe of Jesus Christ and His Gospel" by Elder Soares. Here is a quote from it that stuck out to me:
"Pastor Aiden Wilson Tozer, a renowned writer and valiant Christian, wrote, “Complacency is a deadly foe of all spiritual growth.” Wasn’t this exactly what happened to the people of Nephi shortly after the birth of Christ? They “began to be less and less astonished at a sign or a wonder from heaven, … [disbelieving] all which they had heard and seen.” Thus did Satan “blind their eyes and lead them away to believe that the doctrine of Christ was a foolish and a vain thing.”"
Complacency. I felt called out by this quote, but it was so needed. I feel like I have been pretty complacent with my testimony and missionary work and all the things. I don't want to be complacent. I want to be working hard and growing and changing. SO lets do it together. Let us be in awe of Jesus Christ and His gospel, lets learn of Him more, lets be driven!! Driven to Christ!! Lets get it!!
I love yall!
