The One Where I Went on Campus Again!!
Hey yall! Its time for another weekly email from the one and only Sister Rose!! It was a good week. Honestly dont know what happened. Lets get into it......
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• I went on two exchanges this week! One was with Sister Gannon. She is the best!! I love her so much! She just came out on her mission about 3 months ago. She is out of training now and she was so excited to show me that she can do missionary work so well now that her "in training" title has come off her head. Lol she was an amazing missionary last transfer too, but she really has just grown so much!! So awesome! I loved getting to learn from her.
• My other exchange was an STL exchange with Sister Potter!! She is seriously amazing!! I came out with her and then we served in a dustrict together for 3 transfers. She is serving on the UNLV campus and everybody knows how i feel about that!! So God gave me another chance to experience campus and dream of serving there!! It was THE best!! We found 11 people and talked to so many people!! Miracle day! Sister Potter is an amazing missionary and I loved learning from her as well.
• Our friend Veronica is getting baptized this sunday!! Yay! Her interview is today so pray for her!!
• After one of Veronica's lessons we were walking back to the car and qe frlt prompted to knock on a house. He opened the door (in his underwear....) and then ran back inside and put some clothes on lol. Then came back out and we shared a message with him. He told us that he had lots of member friends, and he said " if i were to ever be any religion i would def be LDS." Lol then how about you do it. He wants to meet with us!!
• A couple weeks ago a lady told us that she has been reading the bible and she wanted to talk about it! She said to come back, so we did! When we came back she started talking about how reading the Bible has helped her and helped her to feel less guilty. We read to her from the book of mormon, Almas conversion story in Alma 36 and she was in tears after. She said she related so much to him. So presh!!
• We had the primary program in all 3 of our wards on sunday!! Literally so presh!! The lods are just so adorable and we jush got cuteness overñoad at church for our 3 sacrament meetings. Glad I could be in a family ward at this time of the year so I could see the primary program. Best day ever.
• We went to the temple today!!
Some hard things and what I learned:
• I have trust issues. Thats all. Jk. Its because all our friends tell us they are going to be at church and then they just dont show up. Like what?! Its ok though. God loves them and i do too.
• Why do I get stressed? Thats all. Lol.
Some funny things that made me laugh:
• We had a lesson yesterday at the campus with one of the sisters friends. He was hilarious!! He has a chain link fanny pack on and the whole time he was adjusting it every 5 seconds and clanking his chains lol. Love it! I miss YSA.
• GET THIS!! Does anyone remember Amor from my old YSA!? We were teaching him and then he kinda went MIA, but we would see him on the side of the road all the time. Well guess what!?! We were walking on campus and WE SEE AMOR!! Crazy. We invited him to the fhe activity that night and he came lol. So weird that we just see him all the time.
• We had a pass off lesson with Laura the sweet dog lady that is getting baptized soon. She just makes me giggle. She says the most unhinged things loll. The Elders we passed her off to have no idea what is coming for them!
• We played googley eyes at dinner with this cute family. The little boy puts the glasses on his tummy, gets on the table and starts shimmying with it on his belly. So funny. I love kids.
• I love doing this thing where everytime someone rejects us rudely or makes a rude comment, I just act really surprised and go "oh" in a really surprised, innocent voice. Just to maybe help them feel remorse or something. Hahaha. I have had a few people apologize to me, so maybe it works.
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!

Sister Rose time!!Joy. It truly does come from knowing Jesus Christ and exercising faith in Him. Repentance= joy. This is the scripture that I shared with that lady that I wrote about earlier. Its in Alma 36. Alma had turned people away from God in his past. He had done many horrible things, but then he remembered being told by his father sbout Jesus Christ. This was his experience. And this can be our experience as well. Alma 36:17-21:
"17 And it came to pass that as I was thus racked with torment, while I was harrowed up by the memory of my many sins, behold, I remembered also to have heard my father prophesy unto the people concerning the coming of one Jesus Christ, a Son of God, to atone for the sins of the world.
18 Now, as my mind caught hold upon this thought, I cried within my heart: O Jesus, thou Son of God, have mercy on me, who am in the gall of bitterness, and am encircled about by the everlasting chains of death.
19 And now, behold, when I thought this, I could remember my pains no more; yea, I was harrowed up by the memory of my sins no more. 20 And oh, what joy, and what marvelous light I did behold; yea, my soul was filled with joy as exceeding as was my pain!
21 Yea, I say unto you, my son, that there could be nothing so exquisite and so bitter as were my pains. Yea, and again I say unto you, my son, that on the other hand, there can be nothing so exquisite and sweet as was my joy."
I love yall!
