The One Where This is God's Work
Hey yall! It's been a good week!! We have seen many miracles. I am grateful to be a missionary!! Let's get into it.......
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• Last night it was 8:59 and Sister Tripp asks if we were healed home. I said "Yes! After we knock this last door" and I just pointed to the one that we were right infront of. We go to knock the door and a lady comes out and starts to talk to us. She was SO sweet! We found her and she has been looking for a church home for a few years since they have moved here!! Yay! So cool!!
• We have been looking for ways to show Gods love for our friends ti them. We decided to stop by our friend Veronica and we came at the perfect time. She was sick and her husband had gone to work and left tons of dishes from dinner the morning before out. She was feeling stressed. We told her that we would do the dishes. So we did! She was so grateful and we loved doing it!!
• We met a family a couple weeks ago that said they wanted to learn more about the Book of Mormon but they had to go quickly. They told us to come by a different time. We did and they werent home. But! Last night we were in the area and the dad was outside. He said that he would like us to come by again. The mom them came out and said she didn't really feel like she needed us to come back. We felt prompted to tell her about the Book of Mormon and give her one. So we did and she was so excited she ran in and grabbed her kids!! They were si excited to know that there is more to learn about Jesus Christ and we testified about the Book of Mormon! It was so cool. We are coming back again!! Yay.
• We had a lesson with Veronica last tuesday night and it was SO amazing!! She starts off with listing off everything that she loved about general conference. So presh. And then she goes on to practically teach us about the rstoration adn how much she loves the Book of Mormon.
• We had interviews with President and Sister Vance. I love them! Sister Vance said that she felt prompted to tell me that she loves me and cherishes me personally for who I am and the skils I have, not just because I am their missionary. So presh. Ministering individually is so important and makes people fee so loved!
Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• A lot of our friends bailed for church this week. Very sad. But, it's ok. Because I had such a wonderful experienece this week while partaking of the sacrament and singing hymn 1016 in the new hymn book (Behold the Wounds in Jesus' Hands). I just felt immense joy and humiliy as I sang about how My Savior has built mansions for us all, and in His arms I may rest. I reccomend going and reading that hymn, because it got me!!
• Being away from my family and from my ward family is hard. I want to be there to comfort, to help, and to aide in times of need. But I know that I am where I need to be. I know that God takes care of my loved ones at home.
Some funny things that made me laugh:
• One of the families in our ward keeps having us over and I love them. The dad is obsessed with pickleball, so he loves talking about it witth me. Except they keep forgetting my name and refer to me now as the pickleball sister. lolll.
• Sister Tripp keeps getting surprised by how bold I am lolll. She just says at the end of different conversations, "dang, that was bold." Lol. I have no shame anymore. Its almost like I don't even have social skills anymore.
• We played pickleball today and one of the Elders keeps hitting the ball before it bounces on the serve. He just goes "what can I say, I'm a go getter" lollll.
• We were doing Veronica's dishes and she had her parakeets out of their cage just flying around. They nose diving at Sister Tripp and then flying up at the last second. bahahaha.
• The other sisters in our apartment got a Morgan Wallen life size poster!! Hahaha so funny! It keeps scaring me when I see it in the corner of my eye lol.
• We had to roll under a gate to get out of a neighborhood. Lolll
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!

Sister Rose time!! I love this quote from Sister Freeman's talk at general conference:
" At church, my mind often focuses on the delivery system of the sacrament—the preparing, the blessing, and the passing. But on that afternoon, I pondered the gift of God’s power available to me through the sacred ordinance itself and the covenant promise I was making as I took that piece of bread and that cup of water. This was a time when I needed power from heaven. In the midst of great heartache, exhaustion, and uncertainty, I wondered about this gift that would allow me to draw upon the power from Him that I so desperately needed. Partaking of the sacrament would increase my companionship with the Spirit of the Lord, allowing me to draw upon the gift of God’s power, including the ministering of angels and the Savior’s enabling strength to overcome."
Let's all be healed by the sacrament this week!!
I love yall!
Sister Rose
