The One Where NFL Turned LDS

Hey yall! It was a super fun, eventful week! We had a blast as always. Missionary life isn't all cupcakes and rainbows, but the Lord helps me to see so much good as I look back on each week. It's really cool! Let's get into it......

Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• We had 2 awesome lessons with Dillan and Larissa this week! We taught them the restoration and the spirit was so strong. But also, Larissa has never really learned anything about Jesus Christ's life, so we told her about the story of Him healing the woman with an issue of blood. And the spirit was so strong as we explained how He is so aware of each one of us. Larissa was in awe! It was cool!
• Dillan and Larissa came to our ward Christmas party and met everyone!! It was so fun! It was an interesting ward Christmas party. There was a really bad performance of the 12 days of Christmas lol.
• SO! Here is what everyone has been waiting for since my last email. The update on the Raiders player!! First of all, his name is Amari Burney and he does get some playing time. And you can just look him up, because I actually can't at all but my family did for me soooo ya. Anyways, we had the lesson with him and taught him the plan of salvation and he loved it!! He's so kind! He said he didn't grow up going to church or anything but he has faith in Christ. We invited him to be baptized and he said it is something he wants to work towards!! Yay for Amari!
• Then we had a lesson with Amari's literal next door neighbor Scott. Scott is a cool dude. He has a similar situation to Amari. He wants to be baptized too! Yasss. So many souls coming unto Christ.
• I turned 21 this week.... ew. The sisters in my apartment spoiled me and decorated for my bday. I am grateful for Sisters Bagley, Jones, and Tripp.
• We got to decorate for Christmas with this cute old lady in our ward! I love old people and I love Christmas, so it was a blast.
• We did a service this week at JC Penney! We helped little kids, of low income families, shop for clothes for Christmas! It was so fun! We got to shop with this cute little girl named Melody and we just picked out THE cutest clothes for her. We had too much fun! At the service I got to see my fav sisters ever: Sisters Chappell, Liljenquist, and Palmer!! Love them!
• I got to go on exchanges with Sister Broberg! She just astonishes me with how kind and considerate she is of people! Their area has been struggling this transfer to find people to teach. They are the YSA missionaries, so we prayed really hard to find YSA aged people. And we found 4!!! Yassss.
• We had dinner with my FAVORITE family this week. The Roberts. I just love them. They said that I have to come back and visit after my mission. Don't worry, I will be back.

Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• This week was my birthday. I am 21 now. Birthdays are just weird on the mission tbh. That's all.
• I got the MyPlan email this week. Weird.

Some funny things that made me laugh:
• We took a cute mom of teenage kids to the Raider's player's house. She totally stalked him before and knew his exact age and accidentally let it slip that she knew his exact age. Superrrr awkward hahaha. I apologized profusely lollll.
• We helped this cute old lady decorate for Christmas the other day. She was SO grumpy at the beginning!! It was kinda funny. She kept making lil side comments that we were forcing her to decorate for Christmas when she LITERALLy invited us to. But, the Christmas spirit got to her and she was super happy by the end.
• We went to our friend Scott's house for his lesson and he has 3 MASSIVE great danes. Like abnormally large. One of them was super rambunctious and kept jumping on us. It was like a horse was jumping on us loll. it was honestly terrifying.
• Larissa's baby and I bonded over passing a crayon back and forth to each other at the ward Christmas party. She loves me now. That is honestly the most interaction I've had with a baby in quite some time. I miss babies.

Drum roll pleaseπŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯πŸ₯Sister Rose time!!
I started the Book of Mormon over again and I am going to read at all the way through during my last few transfers of my mission. I am so excited, because I decided that as I read I am going to highlight times when I feel of God's love for me. I have already highlighted so much on each page! The Book of Mormon is FULL of His love for us. I have learned thus far through the Book of Mormon that He provides us with so many tools for us to know Him and learn of Him and His plan for us on this earth. I know that the Book of Mormon is the word of God. It testifies of Christ and has helped me to develop my relationship with Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

I love yall!
Sister Rose
