The One Where Elder Kearon Came!!
Hey yall!!
It's been a great week. Lot's of meetings and conferences, but so good still!! I love being a missionary. So crazy to think I only have 2 months left of being a full time missionary. Gotta grind and I am excited to see what I learn these last few months!! Let's get into it....
Here is just an assortment of things that happened and what I learned this week:
• Elder Kearon (the new apostle) came to Henderson and did a mission conference for our mission!! It was SO AWESOME!! The spirit was so strong! You just know that he is an apostle of God when you are in the same room as him and when he speaks!! Something that stood out to me was when he said "BE the message." We share this message of the plan of happiness; this plan that Jesus Christ has saved us; that we can have joy through Him. But we need to BE that message, show our joy for that message and how it has changed us into being a more joyful and happy people. SHOW IT!! Smile!! I love that reminder.
• We also had zone conference this week!! It was so fun to see the two zones of missionaries that are out of valley! I especially loved seeing my trainee, Sister Wright. She is incredible and just hilarious!! President talked to us about how we can stand forever by going back to primary questions; like " Is God our Eternal Father?, Is Jesus Christ the Savior of the World?"
• Our Elders Quorum gave us a referral of a member and his family that have decided that the mom wants to take the lessons!! Super cool. The Lord is just preparing people to receive the gospel!!
• We had a lesson with our friend Michael. I was honestly scared. He has a lot of really deep questions and that really intimidates me. I have never been super knowledgeable to answer all those super deep (secondary) questions. But we prayed about what member to bring and what scriptures to use and the Lord really just guided the lesson. It was amazing and we were able to have scriptures come to mind that answered his questions. It was so cool!! The spirit is awesome!!
• We took this member Bro Mcfarlin to a lesson with our friend John's lesson. From the moment we met John, we knew that he had to be friends with Bro Mcfarlin. It was like matched in heaven. But when we brought him to the lesson, we realized that it was a little too obvious why lol. They both had ponytails on the top of their head with shaved head around it lolll. Oops. But hey they are gonna be great friends, because they look exactly alike.
• played pickleball again this week. Pretty dope.
• A great dane pretty much tried to tackle me
• it is frigid our here, I know I shouldn't be complaining, but the wind is wicked windy.
I love yall!
