The One Where Our Little Linda Got Baptized!!
Hey yall! I feel like I never have time to put a lot of effort into these emails, but I do them and that's what counts!! I just have been really been so grateful this week for everyone who has supports me and has helped me to keep going!! I love you guys!! All of you are my people and I love you. Let's get into it......
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• LINDA GOT BAPTIZED!! Saturday was literally such an amazing day! Linda is my honorary grandma. We have met with her every other day leading to her baptism. We have LOVED getting to teach her. She is just such an amazing example to me of just feasting on the words of Christ. The words of Christ are literally delicious to her now!! She just loves the gospel and she cant wait to go to the temple!! After she was baptized and confirmed she hugged Sister Latu and I and just cried. She just kept saying that she knew that God sent us to her! I felt literally like this scripture (Alma 26:30)
• We got to teach the cutest kids ever this week! These kids live in a rundown part of town. these people live in practically shacks with a very large amount of people in each shack. Their parents are never home, because they work to feed them. we taught these girls and their dad about prayer. We taught them how to pray and how they can talk to their Heavenly Father who knows and loves them. This made my week, seeing their faces just feel at peace as they expressed their concerns and hurts to their Father in Heaven who loves them so much was so powerful. I know that they are children of God, He knows them.
• We had interviews with President and Sister Vance this week. I just love Sister Vance so much. She just gets me!! We always have the best conversations. I am deeply grateful for her. I know I was called to this mission for many reasons and she is one of them.
Some hard things and wat I learned from them:
• We had 6 people confirm to come to church this week, we even had some of them getting rides with members and only 1 showed up. It's ok though. Our sacrament experience was wonderful nonetheless, I just pray that they will be able to experience that peace next week!!
Some funny things that made me laugh:
• This guy totally rejected us and then does a double take and goes "You're really pretty though. Your eyes are gorgeous though" Ok old men. Stop hitting on people who could be your granddaughter. that's enough.
• Some drunk dudes tried to get us to come over and drink beer with them. I didn't hear them at first, so I started going toward them. But then heard what they said as we got closer and did such a harsh change of direction lolll.
• Sister Morris and I on exchanges were in a a city very far from their apartment. So we brought stuff to make pb and honey sandwiches in a grocery store ahaha. Life of a missionary.
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!

Sister Rose time!!I have been really thinking about this verse lately.
2 Nephi 29:9
"And I do this that I may prove unto many that I am the same yesterday, today, and forever; and that I speak forth my words according to mine own pleasure. And because that I have spoken one word ye need not suppose that I cannot speak another; for my work is not yet finished; neither shall it be until the end of man, neither from that time henceforth and forever."
His work is not yet finished. That is so powerful. His gospel being restored is not just in a history book, but it is still being fulfilled. We are part of it. And tat restoration starts with us. Has the gospel been restored to you? Have you accepted it? Have you practiced the gospel of Jesus Christ? I know that as you practice the gospel of Jesus Christ, you will have greater happiness and peace. That is why God has restored it. Just try it!!
I love yall!
Sister Rose
