The One Where We Meet Our Goals When We Rely on Him!!
Hey yall!! It's been actually such a miraculous week!! Our motto this week was "to rise to a new sense of commitment". We have been focusing on just working hard and trusting God more!! And guess what, God just magnified our imperfect harvest!! I love it!! Also, I didn't send an email last week, but I have officially entered my last transfer of my mission which is really weird. But also exciting! I stayed in Kingman, Arizona and I have a new companion, Sister Brady!! Let's get into it......
Some happy things and what I learned from them:
• As missionaries we set goals in our week that help us to stretch ourselves, increase our faith, and rely o our Heavenly Father as we go about and do His work. This week we were able to set every goal that we set!! We found 10 people to teach, taught 13 lessons with a member present, had 5 people at church, and 3 people with a baptismal date!! The Lord's work is hastening and He is helping His children to find the truth and light of the gospel of Jesus Christ!! I love it!! And am so grateful to be a part of it.
• We put our friend Alejandra on date for baptism in March!! Yay!! She is the wife of a member and she is just progressing so well. Her lessons are kinda fun, because Spanish is her first language, but she also speaks English very well. We teach her very simply in English and then a member that we bring, who speaks Spanish, teaches and tells more in depth and answers her questions. But hey, my high school Spanish comes in clutch sometimes and I can understand most of wat they are talking about. So that's cool.
• We taught about te temple to 3 of our friends yesterday and it was a blast!! All of the lessons were so spirit filled and they loved learning about the temple!!! I love the temple!!
• I got to go on exchanges with Sister Tripp (the last sister that I trained) and it was such a blast!! I am her STL now and its literally the best!! It was so weird, because it just felt so comfortable teaching together because we were companions for 3 months!! Pretty fun! We just laughed and giggled at old mems all day. I am grateful for the friendships I have made on my mission.
Some hard things and what I learned from them:
• One of our really cool, progressing friends decided it wasn't her time right now. It is sad, but we know that God has got her and one day she will be prepared and ready!!
• We started teaching this guy that has a lot of mental health issues. He has gone through so much in his life and you can really tell by how he speaks and acts. He wants to know God and who He is and if He loves him. But his past has closed him off to accepting love from anyone. As he told us his story and how he feels, I felt so much love for him. Life has really beat him to the ground. I wanted to cry during our lesson with him. I got a prompting to read the song "I Am a Child of God" to him. He really liked it and said that he really does want to know and believe that he is a child of God. Knowing that we are children of God gives us divine purpose and power to take on life, knowing that you are not alone.
Some funny things that made me laugh:
• Our friend Adhan asked us if we could help her build a vanity with er for her new apartment after our lesson with her. So we did!! Dang those were the worst directions ever!! Thats what you get when you order furniture off of TikTok shop I guess. bahaha. That was some funny moments with Adhan, we are bonded for life because of that experience together hahaha.
• We had another lesson with Adhan and we had it at a cute Mom and daughter duo's house. We go to leave and a fly flew on the daughter's face and Adhan goes to shoo it away. The mom did not see the fly and so she thought that Adhan was "sprinkling blessings" on her daughter bahahaha!! I lost it!!
• We made aprons during our lunch hour with one of our fav members. Well we then were left with no time to eat food lol. So we literally SHOVED a hot dog in our mouths. We literally looked like in the to
m and jerry movies where they eat a hot dog whole and it thuds to the bottom of jerry hahah!!
• We saw a past friend that we were teaching while we were out biking the other day. He was kinda a weird guy. He is 42 and thinks that he's like 16. He goes to (what I thought) shake my hand, but instead he like does a weird dap up thing and my hand just stood there in a handshake form loll. So just looked like he was happy salmoning my hand. weird move bro.
Drum roll please

Sister Rose time!!!

Sister Rose time!!!I just love the chorus of the song "I Am a Child of God". Let's read it together.
"Lead me, guide me, walk beside me, Help me find the way. Teach me all that I must do To live with him someday."
One of the greatest things that I have learned and experienced on my mission is how much our Heavenly Fater loves me. He knows me and wants me back with Him. He also is so proud of each and every thing that we do and accomplish! I have felt this as I have set goals and accomplished them and knew that there was no way that I could have done those things without divine help. I know that He has provided me with resources to be able to know of His love for me and how I can return back to Him, which is in and through our Savior, Jesus Christ. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
I love yall!
Sister Rose
